Why is interior design important?

Besides planning and decorating each space intelligently, interior design relies on a few indispensable points when building an environment - aesthetics, comfort, functionality and practicality. All this supported by the same objective: to translate the identity and routine of those who will frequent the place.

In the construction of the ideal environment, some important tricks are necessary, such as lighting design, color planning, furniture, accessories and decorative objects of the environment. The result of all this exposes traces of the personality of the residents of a house, for example.

As the philosopher Gaston Bachelard said, "the house is our corner of the world; it is, as they often say, our first universe". Therefore, design has the role of printing on this universe a little bit of who we are, what we want to be and marks of our history.

In interior design, balance is as necessary as the execution of the project itself - environments that haven't changed for many years reflect rigidity and insecurity; constant changes, on the other hand, seem emotional fragility and inconstancy.

More than beauty, the role of design in the construction of an environment is to make it exist not only physically, but also socially and psychically in people's daily lives, translating their personalities, their dreams and most important: their desire for comfort.

These are small changes that can make great effects in the creation of this new world of yours and hence any interior design mistakes should be avoided. How about painting that dark wall with a lighter tone and let the lighting enter your house? Or change the furniture in place? And, who knows, change the furniture completely? A new carpet in your living room could bring a new twist to the environment.

From small to big changes, you renovate your home and can pass this on to your work environment, your behavior and even the people around you. Maybe it's time to invest in that super different shelf that you've been dating for a long time and haven't taken home yet.
